Rules & safety

Please read these and share them with your guests. Every guest signs an online waiver before their first session.

In an emergency: call 911 first and give your street address. Then call our 24/7 line at (201) 245-9137 (also posted inside the sauna door).
  1. Everyone signs

Every person who uses the sauna signs the online waiver before their first session. The renter is responsible for all guests.

  2. An adult in charge

A responsible adult 21+ stays on site for the whole rental. Name one sober “stove captain” for each session.

  3. No alcohol or drugs

Not before, not during. Don’t use the sauna if you’re ill.

  4. Capacity

No more than 8 people inside at once.

  5. Children

Only with an adult inside, on the lower bench, for no more than 5 minutes. No children under 6.

  6. Session length

Keep rounds to 5–15 minutes with at least 10 minutes of rest between. Drink water. Leave right away if you feel dizzy, nauseous, short of breath or have chest discomfort.

  7. Health conditions

Get a doctor’s OK first if you’re pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, diabetes or a seizure disorder, or take blood-pressure medicine or diuretics.

  8. Never alone

Always sauna with at least one other person nearby.

  9. The fire

Burn only the wood we supply. No lighter fluid, trash or treated wood. Don’t overfill the firebox. Never splash water on the stove body, only the rocks.

  10. Use the glove

Use the supplied glove for the stove door. Never touch the chimney.

  11. Keep the exit clear

Nothing blocking the door. Hang nothing to dry near the heater.

  12. Inside the cabin

No glass, food or drinks except water. No smoking, vaping or candles. No oils or lotions. Take off metal jewelry.

  13. Pets

No pets inside. Keep pets and kids away from the stove and chimney outside.

  14. Don’t move it

Don’t move, unhitch or adjust the trailer, jacks or wheel chocks. The hitch lock stays on. Don’t lend or sublet it.

  15. When to stop

Stop in high wind or lightning, or if your town announces a burn ban, and call us.

  16. Safety gear

Know where the extinguisher and CO alarm are. If the alarm sounds, everyone out, then call us.

  17. Emergencies

Call 911 first with your street address, then call our 24/7 line (posted inside the door).

  18. Before pickup

Let the last fire burn out at least 3 hours before pickup. Leave the ash in the stove, keep the path clear, take your trash.

  19. Report damage

Tell us right away. Excessive mess, glass, oil or smoke is charged under the cleaning policy.
